At least 15 passengers aboard an Eastern Airlines jet suffered minor injuries when the landing gear collapsed moments after the plane arrived in Panama City on Saturday night, the airline said. Flight 977 from New York, with about 300 people aboard was taxiing at the time. Eastern’s office in Panama put the number of injured at 15; the airline’s Miami office said 17 were hurt, including four U.S. citizens, while being evacuated from the plane on inflatable chutes. Early reports indicated a tire blew out and the right landing gear folded after the L-1011 touched down.
