4 Held in $1.25-Million Drug Bust at Suspected ‘Laboratory’ in Home
Narcotics investigators arrested four people and seized $1.25 million in amphetamines Wednesday in a raid of a suspected drug laboratory at a Garden Grove home.
Held in Orange County Jail on charges of manufacturing and possession of a controlled substance for sale were Wayne Dickinson, 38, Sophie Dickinson, 67, Helen Simmons, 29, and Robert Searcy, 19. All four lived in the home in the 10000 block of Bonser Avenue, Garden Grove Police Lt. Ken Whitman said.
State and local investigators entered the home with a search warrant at 10:30 a.m., Whitman said, and found 40 pounds of Ritalin, an methamphetamine sometimes used to treat hyperactive children.
Police also found explosives, Whitman said. A bomb squad from the county Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to remove them.
The house has been under investigation for a week.
