* * * “BORN TO BOOGIE.” Hank Williams Jr. Warner Bros. Bocephus hasn’t sounded this relaxed in years--perhaps because he finally won some long-overdue industry recognition earlier this year with his Entertainer of the Year award from the Academy of Country Music. That’s not to say he’s turned into a country Christopher Cross, though. Relaxed, yes; somnambulistic, never. On Side 1, Williams shows he’s plenty rowdy, but the rowdiness is less forced than it has sounded on his last several albums, whether in the hard-driving title tune or the hilariously unbridled “Buck Naked.” And on Side 2, he turns to straightforward country ballads as if to prove he hasn’t forgotten what “traditional” means. Dad would have been proud of this one.
