Newport Pacific Names Building Unit Head

The Newport Pacific group of companies has named former Houston developer Albert Marshall as president of a newly formed construction company affiliate.
Marshall, 40, heads Newport Pacific Construction Corp., which will build apartments and condominiums throughout Southern California for Newport Beach-based Newport Pacific Realty and Investment Corp., which previously contracted with outside construction firms.
Newport Pacific Construction will also design and build apartments and condominiums for other developers and get financing for them through Newport Pacific Funding Corp., an affiliated mortgage brokerage firm, according to the Newport Pacific group’s principle owner, Magdy Hanna. Before joining Newport Pacific on July 1, Marshall owned and operated an architecture-construction-development firm in Houston. He said he decided to sell his interests in the Houston area and move to California when the economy of that city started to sour.
