Henry Winkler and John Ritter are paired in “Sob Sisters,” a TV movie for ABC. They are cast as journalists who write an advice column under female pseudonyms. Problems develop when the “women” authors must appear in public.

The daughters of two famous actresses have joined the cast of CBS’ “Falcon Crest” for next season. Mariska Hargitay, daughter of Jayne Mansfield, will play the sister of character Dan Fixx (Brett Cullen). Tahnee Welch, daughter of Raquel Welch, will portray a woman who befriends Lance (Lorenzo Lamas, the son of Fernando Lamas and Arlene Dahl).

ABC has lined up an impressive cast for “The Women of Brewster Place,” a TV movie that follows the lives of seven black women from the south side of Chicago from the 1940s to the 1970s. The stars will be Alfre Woodard, Debbie Allen, Phylicia Rashad, Oprah Winfrey, Shari Belafonte-Harper, Pam Grier and Lonette McKee.

ABC’s “Weekend Specials” series is making a sequel to last season’s “The Mouse and the Motorcycle” titled “Runaway Ralph,” in which Ralph the mouse gets involved with a cat named Garf and a boy at camp. It will air in two parts on the Saturday-morning series next season.

In his role as Alex Keaton, Michael J. Fox will have a new romantic interest on “Family Ties” next season. Courteney Cox has been cast in the NBC sitcom as Lauren, a senior psychology major who gets involved with Alex. Fittingly, they meet while she’s researching a paper on overachievers. Cox previously starred in NBC’s “Misfits of Science” series.

Wayne Rogers and Valerie Harper are cast as husband and wife in “Drop-Out Mother,” a film that CBS plans to broadcast next season. It’s a comedy about a successful businesswoman who decides she’d rather be a housewife, much to the consternation of her children and her husband. Kim Hunter plays Harper’s mother and Carol Kane portrays a friend.

Telly Savalas, the former star of “Kojak,” has been cast as a terrorist-turned-monk in an episode of CBS’ “The Equalizer.” In the two-hour show, Robert McCall (Edward Woodward) is forced to turn to Savalas’ character for help in tracking down another terrorist.

“Brideshead Revisited” is coming back again, this time on KCOP Channel 13. The independent station will show the acclaimed British adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s novel on Aug. 10, 11, 12, 17 and 18. First seen in the United States on PBS, the miniseries stars Jeremy Irons, Anthony Andrews, Sir Laurence Olivier, Sir John Gielgud and Claire Bloom.

Debbie Reynolds as a cop? You bet--in “Sadie and Son,” a TV movie that will turn up on CBS next season. She plays a widowed New York police sergeant who wants to see her son, portrayed by Brian McNamara, follow in her footsteps.

Kenny Rogers and Bruce Boxleitner will team again in “The Gambler--Part III,” a four-hour movie for CBS. They’ll play gambler Brady Hawkes and sidekick Billy Montana, respectively--joined this time out by Linda Gray of “Dallas,” Charles Durning, Jeffrey Jones, George Kennedy, Matt Clark, Dean Stockwell and Melanie Chartoff.

George Takei, who played Mr. Sulu on “Star Trek,” will be seen in an episode of the CBS police series “Adderly” when it has a brief run in prime time next month. He has been cast as a man who peddles top-secret information to several different governments.

It worked for Jackie Gleason. So now Milton Berle, one of Gleason’s contemporaries from the early days of television, is repackaging his old shows for the syndication market. As Gleason did with “The Honeymooners,” Berle will kick off the series with a new special, “Milton Berle: The Second Time Around,” in which he’ll show clips from some of his programs with stars such as Bob Hope, Red Skelton, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Martha Raye and Phil Silvers.
