Four Sikh gunmen killed a Hindu city councilman and the brother of a colleague at their homes in New Delhi, and the army was placed on alert in the Indian capital, officials said. The victims were identified as city councilman Hansraj Sethi, 54, a member of the Hindu-dominated Indian People’s Party, and Sudarsh Munjal, 27, brother of another councilman. Sikhs demanding independence for India’s northern Punjab state have killed more than 600 people this year in terrorist attacks.
