New Italian Coalition Wins Confidence Vote

Prime Minister Giovanni Goria’s new government overcame its first parliamentary hurdle Saturday, comfortably winning a vote of confidence in the Senate.
The 184-122 vote followed a two-day debate in the upper house of Parliament on the program presented by the 44-year-old Christian Democratic prime minister’s five-party coalition.
