Soviet authorities allowed 807 Jews to emigrate in July, up slightly from the previous month’s figure, the Inter-Governmental Committee for Migration said. A spokeswoman for the Geneva-based organization said 236 of the emigres went to Israel, the highest monthly total since 1980. The rest went to other countries including the United States. So far this year, 3,899 Jews have left the Soviet Union, the group said.
