Dutch Queen in French Hospital

THE HAGUE —
Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands was admitted to a hospital in the French resort of Antibes today with symptoms of meningitis but will return to The Hague on Wednesday, a spokesman for the Royal Family said.
Doctors had advised the 49-year-old queen to cancel official functions for some weeks, the spokesman said. He could not say how serious the illness is.
