With the Chinese government’s full sanction, director Luo Guancun began filming Monday on “Nanjing Massacre,” a film about the killing of thousands of Chinese civilians by Japanese troops in 1937. The official China News Service said the film would be shown in Chinese cinemas by the end of the year. Chinese film companies spent more than two years on planning and research for the film, including interviews with several survivors.
