A Hanford man who became a sudden millionaire in the California Lottery plans to keep on managing his dairy instead of retiring and spending his treasure.

“That’s our life,” said Yvonne Baker, whose husband, Otto, 60, hit all six numbers on Saturday’s Lotto--2, 12, 16, 31, 41 and 49--to win $4,369,879.

The Bakers did not turn the winning ticket in Monday at the Quick Trip Market in Hanford where he bought it. Instead, the Bakers drove more than 200 miles to the main lottery office in Sacramento to fill out the forms and turn in the ticket.

“Some people like publicity, but we don’t,” Yvonne Baker said. “It’s a wonderful experience, but we just don’t talk about things, our personal business.”

Baker will receive $224,000 a year minus 20% taxes for 20 years, but the only major expense the couple plans is to build a new house to replace their two-bedroom home on their dairy 10 miles northeast of Hanford.

“We do travel and square dance and have fun already,” Yvonne Baker said. “We’ll just keep on doing what we’re doing and enjoying it more, I guess.”
