Cal State Fullerton was chosen to finish fourth.

San Jose State, which finished 10-2 last season, going undefeated in the PCAA and losing only to Oregon and California, will be led by senior quarterback Mike Perez, the nation’s total offense leader in 1986.

The Spartans received five first-place votes. Fresno State finished second with two first-place votes, and third-place Nevada Las Vegas received one.
