SHUE SHINED

Share

In rebuttal to John Roberts’ letter, I would like to point out that, in fact, Elisabeth Shue never did appear nude in “Link” (Saturday Letters, Aug. 1). A body double, at her insistence, was used in the sequence (which only lasted a few seconds, anyway). A simple check of the credits would have made this clear to Roberts.

I find it unfortunate that, in an era with an overwhelming lack of positive role models (i.e. moral, principled individuals), Roberts would take the time and trouble to attempt to impugn the dignity of an individual who seems to be striving for just such an honorable role.

Shue deserves our plaudits for her integrity and her stance toward any material she would consider morally unacceptable, and not unfounded cynicism and derision.
