AND NOW HERE’S THE NEWS: Mick Jagger’s upcoming solo record--due out Sept. 13--is titled “Primitive Cool.” Co-produced by Jagger, Eurythmic Dave Stewart and Keith Diamond (who’s been at the helm of Billy Ocean’s hits), the album features the title cut, “Let’s Work” (the first single), “Party Doll” and “Say You Will.” . . . Tina Turner, who’s already scheduled for an Oct. 2 date at the Pacific Amphitheatre, will also headline the Forum Dec. 11. Tickets could be on sale as early as the end of the month. . . . The Red Hot Chili Peppers will be back in early September with the group’s new album, “The Uplift Mofo Party Plan,” due from Manhattan Records. The record’s first single will be “Fight Like a Brave,” while other songs will include “Funky Crime,” “No Chump Love Sucker,” “Organic Anti-Beat Box Band” and a raucous remake of Bob Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues.” . . . The Textones are back Aug. 19 with “Cedar Creek,” a new album from Enigma Records. The record includes such songs as “Austin,” “Not Afraid” and “We Can Laugh About It,” an autobiographical account of the band’s move to L.A., penned by current leader Carla Olson with ex-Textone Kathy Valentine. . . . The Rave-Ups, one of the critical faves on the local scene, have finally signed a major label deal--with Epic Records. . . . And the upcoming album by the Balancing Act is co-produced by Vic Abascal, not Peter Case (who did the group’s first EP).
