Doctor Who Aided Thais Gets Magsaysay Award

MANILA —
A doctor working with Thailand’s malnourished rural children was named the winner Friday of the 1987 Ramon Magsaysay award for Community Leadership.
The awards board cited Dr. Aree Valyasevi, 61, a professor of pediatrics, “for improving the diets and promoting the good health of millions of Thai children.”
