Appreciating China

Share

In response to the three articles about China written in June by Stan Delaplane, I question if he really was in China or merely a body going through the motions. During the same month you published an article by three young people who expressed themselves far more eloquently. Part of the reason for tourism is to better understand our world neighbors.

I shudder to think what the Chinese must think of some of the Americans who trample through their lovely country of which they are so proud. Never have I been shown the genuine warmth, honesty and hospitality I found in China, and I was thrilled by strangers in the street asking for my address so we could correspond. Almost every sentence of Delaplane’s articles seemed derogatory to China and its proud people. We are anxious to return for a longer sojourn.
