French mime Marcel Marceau, a Soviet chamber orchestra and a Chinese dance troupe will perform at the Orange County Performing Arts Center as part of a set of four international shows called the Ambassador Series, the Center announced Wednesday.
The performances will include the Moscow Virtuosi, a Soviet chamber orchestra on Oct. 19; the Chinese Children’s Palace of Hangzhou, Nov. 15; Marcel Marceau, Feb. 8, and the Romeros classical guitar quartet, March 25.
The Moscow Virtuosi ensemble has not performed in this county since 1979. The Chinese Children’s group, made up of young artists age 10-18 from the Zheijang Province of China, combines folk dances and with the age-old lively tradition of Chinese acrobatics.
Master mine Marcel Marceau is famous for the creation of his alter ego “Pip,” and other classic acts. The Romeros--father Celedonio and sons Pepe, Angel and Celin--are familiar Southland performers.
