Software Techniques Inc., a Cypress supplier of business software, named Randolph L. Wilkins to the newly created position of vice president of sales and Philip J. Lagestee to the new post of director of sales and marketing.

Along with the new positions, Software Techniques is creating a nationwide direct sales force to handle its line of software for computers made by Digital Equipment Corp. Previously, the 8-year-old company had relied on telephone marketing to sell its products.

Wilkins joins Software Techniques from IBS Corp. in San Diego, where he established a nationwide computer software sales force. Lagestee most recently worked for Modular Icon Systems of Mission Viejo.
