Share

The Monrovia Unified School District, which entered a self-insurance program with four other districts, has cut its premiums in half and will use the $70,000 it saved for a variety of programs.

Paul Herold, assistant superintendent for business services, said the money will be used for the Gifted and Talented Education Program, roof repairs, equipment and supplies. A contingency fund of $21,000 will be available for special programs. The 1987-88 budget is $17 million.
