Fluor Corp. has appointed Larry W. Lineberger, 44, vice president and controller, replacing William M. Hofacre, 54, who has been named to the new position of vice president of financial planning and analysis.

The move separates the accounting and analysis areas of the Irvine-based engineering, construction and natural resources company’s finance department. Hofacre will oversee Fluor’s corporate financial planning and analysis, including strategic planning, while Lineberger will be controller of both Fluor and Fluor Daniel, its construction subsidiary in Greenville, S.C.

Hofacre had been vice president and controller of Fluor since 1984.

Lineberger had been vice president and controller of Daniel International, a Fluor subsidiary that last year became part of Fluor Daniel. He joined Daniel in 1971 after five years with a South Carolina accounting firm that now is part of Ernst & Whinney.
