Firm to Build Mixed-Use Center in Irvine Spectrum
O’Donnell, Brigham & Partners has purchased a 30-acre site in the Irvine Co.’s Irvine Spectrum to build a $25-million mixed-use project, and has broken ground on a $16-million service/technology center on a nearby site it already owns.
The first phase of the mixed-use project will comprise eight buildings with 173,000 square feet of research-and-development space and 104,000 square feet of multitenant industrial space. It will be completed by next spring. About 200,000 square feet will be added in a second phase.
The service/technology center will have a total of 180,802 square feet of space in three one-story buildings. It will be ready for occupancy by next spring.
The company also has broken ground on the second phase of a 24-acre research-and-development park inside the Spectrum. Three mezzanined R&D; structures with a total of 144,984 square feet will be added to the four buildings and 251,000 square feet erected in the first phase. Completion of the second phase is scheduled for next spring.
O’Donnell, Brigham & Partners’ joint-venture partner in the service/technology center and R&D; park is the Irvine Office & Industrial Co., a division of the Irvine Co. The firm is developing the 30-acre mixed-used complex with Boston-based Copley Real Estate Advisors.
