The U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a Minnesota law requiring a minor to notify her parents before having an abortion is unconstitutional and affirmed a judge’s injunction against enforcing it. The 1981 state law required a minor to notify both parents 48 hours before having an abortion or show a court she is mature enough to decide or it would be in her best interests to have the abortion without notifying her parents.
