In the noseriding competition, surfers are allowed to use only 20 inches at the front of the longboard. Competitors are judged on the length of ride, difficulty of the maneuvers and style.

The winner of the noseriding competition will receive $5,000. Competition began Thursday and continues at 7 a.m. today.
