Barbers, take note. Many of today’s young men would like to be Lt. Col. Oliver L. North, the Iran- contra hearings figure. According to a survey done by the new magazine Fast Lane in its September issue, the short-cropped Marine topped the voting when more than 400 men, aged 18 to 34, were asked, “Other than yourself, what person would you most like to be?” After Ollie came Ronald Reagan and Clint Eastwood. A rather unlikely pair--Chrysler chairman Lee Iacocca and Jesus Christ--tied for fourth place, beating out rock star Jon Bon Jovi and John D. Rockefeller. “It’s the backlash against the wimp syndrome,” said Fast Lane Associate Publisher Andy Kowl.
