U.S. crews won two gold medals at the World Rowing Championships on Lake Bagsvaerd in Bagsvaerd, Denmark.

The coxless four women lightweight crew of Sandy Kendall, Lindsay Burns, Angie Herron and Mandy Kowal successfully defended their 1986 title, and a 10-man U.S. crew won the classic coxed eight, the last race in the seven-day championships.
