Kathleen Turner is wowing them in Venice, Italy, where her latest film, “Julia and Julia,” opened the 44th annual Venice Film Festival. Both the film--directed by Peter Del Monte and also starring Sting and Gabriel Byrne--and Turner got glowing reviews in the Italian media Sunday. The late John Huston was also remembered Sunday when Greek actress Irene Papas, the first woman president of the 12-member jury, called for a round of applause for the American director. In addition to showing Huston’s last film, “The Dead,” the Venice film festival, which ends Sept. 9, is also showcasing films by David Mamet (“House of Games”), James Ivory (“Maurice”) and Louis Malle (“Au Revoir Les Enfants,” starring his wife, actress Candice Bergen).
