‘Bare State’

Hunters are to receive permits to kill California mountain lions and bighorn sheep (Part I, Aug. 19), both endangered species.
As these fauna follow the grizzly down the path to extinction, our state nickname would be more meaningful if changed from the “bear state” to the “bare state.”
