TEMPLE HILLS, Md. —
An argument over who would cut the grass apparently led to the shooting death of a wife who attacked her husband with a kitchen knife, police said today.
Cora Hayes, 50, cut her husband’s left hand with a kitchen knife Monday evening after he had refused to cut the lawn, police said. A wounded Willie Hayes, 55, ran into a bedroom to get a .38-caliber handgun. Officers said Cora Hayes followed him and was shot in the chest as she attempted to attack her husband again.
