AIDS: Passed and returned to the Senate for concurrence in amendments on a 64-0 vote a bill (SB 1001) by Sen. John Doolittle (R-Rocklin) to require physicians to offer marriage license applicants a test for AIDS.

Juries: Passed and returned to the Senate for concurrence in amendments on a 45-24 vote a bill (SB 445) by Sen. Quentin Kopp (I-San Francisco) to permit courts to import juries from another county rather than move all other participants in a court case when a change of venue is ordered.
