Westchester : Adult School Offers Classes

The Westchester-Washington Community Adult School will offer a variety of academic and vocational classes this fall.

The school, part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, maintains three centers: Westchester Center, 7400 West Manchester Ave.; Emerson Center, 8810 Emerson Ave., and Washington Center, 10860 South Denker Ave. Instruction will begin Sept. 14.

The centers offer courses in secretarial work, computer literacy, auto mechanics, photography, ceramics and other skills. The Emerson Center also has a course for students with learning disabilities.

The school charges $10 to $20 in tuition for most courses. Senior citizens and high school students may attend free.

Registration will be held at the Emerson Center from Sept. 8 to 10 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon; at the Westchester Center on Sept. 8 and 10 from 6 to 9 p.m.; and at the Washington Center from Sept. 8 to 10 from 1:30 to 8 p.m.
