Chapman Defeats SCC in Far West Soccer

Scott McCrimmon and Kevin Farrell each scored a goal and had an assist to lead Chapman College to a 5-1 victory over Southern California College in a consolation-round game Friday in the Far West men’s soccer tournament at Seattle.

The Panthers will face Texas Christian in the consolation championship game at 5 p.m. today, and SCC will play Northeast Missouri in the seventh-place game at 1 p.m.

Chapman (1-1) took a 3-0 lead in the first half on unassisted goals by Ramiro Alfaro (8:28) and Rick Snyder (9:57), and a goal off a penalty kick by McCrimmon.

Farrell gave the Panthers a 4-0 lead when he headed in a pass from McCrimmon at 71:57. The only score for the Vanguards (0-2) came on an unassisted goal by Ramon Miramont.
