Diary of Witness to Paris Uprising Found

BEIJING —
The diary of a Chinese mandarin who witnessed the 1871 Paris Commune uprising by French workers has been found in a Beijing warehouse.
Chong Hou, the author, was China’s foreign trade minister under the Qing Dynasty and was on a diplomatic mission to France at the time of the socialist rebellion.
