Nomination of Judge Bork

Share

Your story, “Bork Takes Narrow View on Antitrust Legislation,” (Part I, Aug. 26), shows that Bork is in almost complete disagreement with existing antitrust legislation. He has said, “Courts must act decisively in the antitrust area because legislators have unwisely responded to public pressure.” In other words, he is advocating that the Supreme Court interfere, challenge and disobey Congress.

A person who takes such an ultraconservative view of trusts and monopolies and therefore justifies disobeying the Constitution and Congress does not belong on the Supreme Court.
