Here we go again. Democratic presidential aspirants are too busy attacking each other rather than directing their lances at President Ronald Reagan. Reagan has set our nation back about 50 years with his dismantling of social welfare programs which were developed painstakingly through the years on a bipartisan basis. The programs were developed to protect our elderly, our ill, our young and helpless minorities.

If this internecine warfare continues, I fear the Republicans can count on another presidential victory in 1988. Only Jesse Jackson stood tall in a recent debate, failing to attack his peers and instead directed his attacks against the man who is responsible for the dismantling of our nation. The other candidates on the Democratic ticket should follow suit. Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis isn’t the issue. Ronald Reagan is the issue.
