Chrysler, encouraged by the weak dollar, said it hopes to sell between 5,000 and 10,000 cars and trucks in Europe by the end of next year after a nine-year absence from the market. Chairman Lee A. Iacocca said Chrysler plans to start selling five of its models in certain key European markets in the early part of 1988. They are the Voyager mini-wagon, the LeBaron coupe and convertible, the GTS sedan, the ES sedan and the GS Turbo 2, which is known as the Dodge Daytona Shelby Z. The company also resumed production of its Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon America automobiles for the first time since March 6 at its Kenosha, Wis., plant.
