1987 Profitable for Computer Automation Inc.

Computer Automation Inc., an Irvine-based maker of computer test equipment, reported fiscal 1987 net earnings of $1.4 million, contrasted with a loss of $3.8 million in fiscal 1986. Revenues for the year, which ended June 30, totaled $20.9 million, up 2% from $20.4 million the previous year.

The company said fiscal 1987 earnings included a tax credit of $633,000 reflecting net losses in previous years.

For the company’s fourth quarter, net income increased 18% to $252,000, compared to $213,000 in the same quarter last year. Revenues for the fourth quarter were $5.4 million, down 8% from $5.9 million in the year-earlier period.
