Colombia Chief on Mend

SEOUL, South Korea —
Colombian President Virgilio Barco, who underwent emergency surgery shortly after he arrived in South Korea last week, is recovering and has started taking solid food, doctors said today. He has been at Seoul National University Hospital since Sept. 8, when he underwent emergency surgery because of a perforated intestine and peritonitis.
