The four Lina Lee stores in New York’s Trump Tower filed for protection from creditors under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code as a result of a dispute with their landlord, according to Bug & Worm, the Beverly Hills-based parent company of the high-fashion boutiques. Attorney Robert A. Greenfield said the filing, made in Los Angeles, does not involve the two Lina Lee stores in Beverly Hills. Those stores, as well as the New York locations, will continue to operate, he said. Greenfield said one reason for the company’s financial problems was an expansion into Dallas and South Coast Plaza, where stores were recently shut down. Lina Lee Lidow of Beverly Hills is the company’s principal stockholder.
