A Siamese twin, separated two weeks ago, underwent another operation to cover the place on his head where he and his brother had been joined, a hospital spokeswoman said. During the 6 1/2-hour procedure, doctors removed skin and muscle from Benjamin Binder’s back and applied it to the back of his head. Both Benjamin and his brother, Patrick, were taken off respirators a day earlier and are breathing on their own, Lisa Hillman said on behalf of Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Children’s Center. Both are responsive to their parents, Josef and Theresia Binder of Ulm, West Germany, open their eyes at their mother’s touch and have moved their arms and legs, Hillman said.
