Two County Firms Sign Joint Marketing Accord

Alpha Microsystems Inc. of Santa Ana has signed a joint marketing agreement with International Communications Associates of Corona del Mar to market Alpha Micro’s Videotrax personal computer controller board as a video modem.

The patented board converts digital computer data into a standard black-and-white video signal that can be broadcast by cable, microwave or satellite, and received and recorded by a videocassette recorder. The companies will market the board with a complementary satellite earth station manufactured by ICA.

With the video board, computer data can be delivered anywhere a TV broadcast can be received, said Terry J. Mullin, director of video technology for Alpha Micro. He described the market for the product as “nearly unlimited.”
