Manager Frank Lucchesi of the Chicago Cubs...
Manager Frank Lucchesi of the Chicago Cubs has been fined an undisclosed amount and suspended for two days for bumping umpire Joe West during an argument.
Lucchesi was ejected from Sunday’s game at St. Louis after a heated dispute over a checked-swing third strike on the Cubs’ Andre Dawson in the third inning. The Cardinals won the game, 10-2.
Coach Johnny Oates filled in for Lucchesi Monday when the Cubs played the New York Mets at Chicago.
