Renewal Plan

Share

Recently I introduced a series of motions in the City Council to force some changes in the way the Hollywood Redevelopment Plan has been administered by the Community Redevelopment Agency. I want to clarify a detail omitted in David Ferrell’s coverage (“Woo Wants Changes in Hollywood Renewal,” Metro, Sept. 12) of my news conference.

One of my motions proposes to expand the Project Area Committee for the Hollywood area by adding six additional members to be appointed by me. Ferrell’s article failed to make it clear that this motion will not take effect until after the Nov. 16 PAC election, and in fact will have no effect on the coming election which was already scheduled and publicly announced at the time I made my announcement about increasing the size of the PAC.

I am confident this upcoming election, when half of the current 25 members will be up for reelection, will be fairly administered by the League of Women Voters.
