Terry Gilliam, “Brazil’ ’ feisty director, helms this classic German fairy tale of a lying old man (who’s the last magician in the world) and his fantastic travels with a 10-year-old girl. John Travolta and Arye Gross are best buddies who become experts on American hipness when they are duped into opening their own nightclub.
