Share

More than 2,000 participants are expected to burn off calories--on bicycles and off--at the American Heart Assn.’s Heart and Sole Classic on Oct. 24, a benefit for the association’s Orange County chapter.

A 25-kilometer bike-a-thon will begin at Fluor Corp. offices in Irvine, wind down Newport Beach’s Upper Back Bay and then return to Irvine along the San Diego Creek bicycle path. There will also be separate 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer run/walks.

Currently, 91 county companies are participating, but the association is still accepting sign-ups from companies, organizations or individuals.
