Defense Secretary Caspar W. Weinberger has invited Soviet Defense Minister Dmitri T. Yazov to Washington early in October for talks on arms control and other issues. In an interview, Weinberger said he has not received a response to his Sept. 22 letter, which was delivered by the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. However, U.S. defense officials said that they expect a positive response and that the talks could include the 1972 Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty and other issues.
