American Brands Inc. said it will sell its Sunshine Biscuits and Pinkerton’s security units and concentrate on its core businesses in tobacco, liquor and financial services. The owner of such famous brands as Jim Beam whisky and Lucky Strike cigarettes said the two subsidiaries, whose financial results have been poor in recent years, no longer fit with its long-term business plan.
