About 150 Ku Klux Klan members and sympathizers staged a rally and cross-burning on a small farm near Ephrata, Pa., and police arrested five anti-klan demonstrators during protests by hundreds opposed to the klan. Police tightened security before the cross-burning after arresting the five protesters earlier in the day during a minor disturbance between pro- and anti-klan forces at the farm.
