Santa Fe Springs : False Alarm Fee Increased
The Santa Fe Springs City Council has increased its fee for false burglary and robbery alarms from $50 to $65. Residents are allowed three false alarms every year without charge; the service charge applies to the fourth and subsequent false alarms. The increased fee was recommended after a study of the actual cost in lost law enforcement services and overhead as a result of the false alarms. Police said they respond to an average of 190 false alarms each month.
