Bush’s Son Fair After Abdominal Surgery
WASHINGTON — Marvin Bush, son of Vice President George Bush, was in fair condition Wednesday following “elective abdominal surgery,” a Georgetown University Hospital spokeswoman said.
Bush, 30, was admitted to the hospital Sunday and “he is in fair condition. . . . His progress is good,” following surgery Monday, spokeswoman Cynthia Byers said.
The Houston Post reported Wednesday that Bush has suffered from colitis, a chronic inflammation of the colon, and had surgery in 1986 to remove part of his colon.
The newspaper quoted his mother, Barbara Bush, as saying her son is making an excellent recovery.
