A Corona man whose daughters allegedly were molested by an acquaintance was being held for investigation of soliciting the murder of the suspected molester, police said. In an apparent change of heart, the man told police he had taken out a contract for the killing of Ray Dean Wright, 30, of Westminster, who was arrested Oct. 7 for investigation of child molestation, Corona police said. The father, whose identity was not disclosed in order to protect the identity of his daughters, was being held in Riverside County Jail, Lt. Roy Van der Kallen said. Police interviewed a Chula Vista parolee who said he was contacted by the father and offered $2,000 to $3,000 to arrange for Wright’s murder, but the unidentified parolee declined the offer, police said.
